"Step Up for Down Syndrome" is just around the corner, and let me tell you, TEAM LUKAS is ready to raise some money and do some walking! This will be our seventh year walking. After being cooped up in the house for many months because of COVID, it will be awesome to get outside and join many friends and family members for our one and only annual fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association of the Upstate. Please help TEAM LUKAS reach their goal by making a donation. Also, register and join us on our walk. We would love to see you there, and you will be glad that you did. We always have a great time!
Now for my Grammy brag moment... :) Lukas, aka Grammy's sweet Prince, has grown so much in the past year! He has gotten so tall and has the cutest freckles across the bridge of his little nose. He is becoming "Mister Independent" trying to do things all by himself. It's hard to believe he will turn seven (7) in September! For the life of me, I don't know where the time goes!
Lukas was loving going to school before COVID hit (he started at a new school last August), learning new things, and of course, playing with his friends. He will be very happy when he goes back in a couple of weeks.
He is really into Brio trains lately and has all of us trying to come up with interesting train track designs...Grammy is not very good at that. Also, music...he just loves all kinds of music. I have a keyboard, and Lukas loves going on it and playing with the keys to make different and fun sounds. He also loves Pops' drum set.
Lukas has been taking swimming lessons in Grammy and Pops pool this summer. He loves it and loves his instructor, Miss Michelle. He is like a little fish! Also, my Prince and I love riding around our neighborhood on the golf cart waving to all the neighbors. To say that Lukas has been very busy would be an understatement.
During these uncertain times in our country and the whole world, it is a relief to know that some things don't change...for instance, the incredible way all of you folks have supported TEAM LUKAS, and of course, Lukas himself. Thank you so much; you are truly appreciated!
